In Grundy County, Iowa, in the spring of 1985, a farm-sale auctioneer earns his living crying his neighbors' foreclosures, and this Saturday he has to sell out the man who gave him his voice. Then the sale bill goes up at the elevator, and on the last line is a lot no one in the county has dared to sell in fifty years.
